Madeleine Berroyer

Before the War, she ran a large store supplying the French Army. Put in contact with Louise de Bettignies, she took part in the activities of the Alice Network. Arrested in November 1915, she was imprisoned first in Brussels and then in Germany with Louise de Bettignies. Severely debilitated by her detention, she died in 1924. She was a Knight of the Legion of Honour, holder of the War Cross, Officer of the British Empire and decorated with the Military Cross.
