Testifying
With the end of 1918, accusing testimony appeared on the German occupation of Lille. Journalists and writers kept daily logs and gathered testimony. In addition to the most important events, the works collected anecdotes of a day-to-day life marked by the humiliation of heavy military occupation. Less conflictual relationships between the occupier and the residents were not addressed. They only appeared in much later testimonies.
